Refugee Sponsorship – 2020
As you may already know, we as a church have committed to sponsor a refugee family this year!
The family we will be sponsoring is that of Willy Kagazo’s younger brother, Dieu-Mercie. Dieu-Mercie, his wife, Badisire, and their 6 children (Gad, Yvonne, Clemence, Dieu-Mercie, Mary Kezia, and Joel) have been living in a refugee camp in Rwanda for nearly 7 years. The four youngest children were born in the refugee camp and have not known life outside of that environment. The family fled the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to escape the violence and instability caused by clashes between rebel groups in that region. Now, they are seeking a home for their children. Additionally, their 2-year-old daughter (Mary Kezia) is suffering from undiagnosed health issues that are stunting her growth and development; she is 2 years old and just now learning to walk and talk. There is urgency in their resettlement.
Through MCC, we have been awarded the 8 spaces necessary to sponsor this family. This is a miracle! We must therefore act immediately and not postpone the process, as it is unlikely that we could be given a second such opportunity.
The funds required to begin the process are $20,000. This is due JULY 1! We trust that the Lord will provide the resources necessary for this family to resettle in Canada. We ask you, our church family, to prayerfully consider partnering with this project financially. Click here for more ways to donate. Please designate your donations to Refugee Sponsorship.
