If you’ve graduated from high school and are trying to find your place at Eastview, consider joining the Young Adult community. We are a segment of the Eastview family that meets twice a month, and are committed to growing our character in walking with God, making disciples of those around us, and practicing servanthood as demonstrated by Jesus.
We typically meet on the second and fourth Sunday evenings of each month for a couple of different events. The second Sunday of the month is usually a combination of a coffeehouse and an indoor soccer event. We love to hang out together just to have a little fun and connect relationally, and so this time is quite unstructured with a come-and-go atmosphere. This is a great way to meet us and check us out.
The fourth Sunday evening of the month is reserved for our teaching time. This event often takes the form of a large-group Bible study, though we’ve also heard from young adult missionaries, listened to video lectures, and practiced prayer disciplines on these evenings. It’s a time we dedicate to developing our spiritual maturity and learning about walking with God.
Care groups are another major element of our church community and we encourage participation in these groups as much as possible. It’s in these groups where we find the encouragement, friendship, and soul care we need to live as followers of Jesus in the world.
Last but certainly not least, we place a high value on servanthood, and particularly serving people who are marginalized in society. This may take a number of different forms but can include helping at a street mission, visiting hospitals, befriending low-income families, or helping with the Starfish Breakfast Program. Our desire is to take our servanthood outside the Eastview family to demonstrate the love of God to our surrounding community.
If you are new to the church or are recently graduated from student ministry and are looking for a place in this large Eastview family, join us at one of our monthly events. We’d really like to meet you.
