Dave and Louise Sinclair-Peters Family - Missionaries in Thailand
We are excited to partner with the Sinclair-Peters family and the work they are involved with in Thailand. They are church planters under MBMS International. MBMS International is the global mission agency of the Mennonite Brethren church in Canada and the United States. MBMS International strives to share Christ's love through: urban church planting, discipling church leaders who will spread the Gospel across the globe, and love for the whole person through programs of compassionate aid, education and community development. Their mission statement is: "Holistic church planting that transforms communities among the least reached."
The Life Center began as a church planting initiative by Team 2000, a team of three missionary families formed in 2000 under MBMS International. After a year of language study, the members of Team 2000 felt God's leading to move to Chonburi in January 2002 to start the initial phases of church planting. After working with local churches and continuing to study Thai, Team 2000 opened The Friendship Center as a place for outreach through English Teaching and evangelistic Celebration Service events. We partnered with local churches and Thai Campus Crusade for Christ workers to reach out to the Bang Saen community. In October 2003 we began a Bible study for new believers and seekers. In August 2004 we launched a regular worship service at The Friendship Center. God blessed our step of faith as we began to see lives changed and people coming to Christ. In just a few months the service outgrew the small townhouse we were renting, and God provided our current facility, which we moved into on November 11, 2004. We christened the new facility "The Life Center"; in Thai we call it "The Church of Life". God has continued to grow the church and bless the community through many outreach activities, with Thai people, missionaries, and volunteers working together towards our hope and vision, to bring the life of Jesus to the people of Bang Saen, creating fully committed followers of Christ.
With an ideal location on the main street for the community, The Life Center offers many events and activities in order touch the lives of people from all ages, cultures, and walks of life. Our regular worship service is on Sunday, TLC Kids' Club happens concurrently with the adult worship service, two Sunday school classes help people dive into the Word, and music lessons allow people to develop their musical talents to glorify God. TLC English Club holds classes weekly, church members gather regularly for care groups, volunteers show God's mercy through local slum outreaches, and kids come to the TLC Song and Dance program to learn English, music, dancing, and sign language.
In addition to this church plant, TLC has daughtered four more church plants as well as been involved in the Abundant Life Home Orphanage, a place providing unconditional love and care for babies and children with AIDS/HIV.
The support of the Sinclair Peters family fits within our International Mission Field as we build God's kingdom and His church locally and globally. We believe in partnerships and desire to minister together with like-minded people who share a similar vision and passion for transforming communities for Jesus Christ. We believe this collaboration with MBMS International and their many partnerships with churches and organizations around the world are of great benefit to Eastview.
