Our vision is simple: to become a biblically functioning community of believers so that Christ's redemptive purposes can be accomplished in this world.
Our mission is equally clear: to lead people to Christ and on to maturity in Him.
The mission of our church is summarized in a single sentence based on two key scriptures.
The Great Commandment: "Jesus said 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart... soul... and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.'" Matt. 22:36-40
The Great Commission: "Jesus said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.'" Matt. 28:19-20
Eastview is a church designed to serve both Christians and those who might consider themselves spiritual seekers. It's a safe place for people who are looking for answers to their spiritual questions, and simply want to check out Christianity without anyone pressuring them.
It's also a place where those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ can learn and be encouraged in their spiritual growth.
What truly defines a church is not simply its doctrine, but its values. Eastview's core values are simple, but like any set of values, they shape who we are.
Though non-traditional in style, Eastview is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith. These values are the beliefs and convictions that support and drive our vision as a church.
That believers minister according to the gifts that God has given them. That members of the body value their inter-personal relationships.
That Christ calls us to passionately follow him in all areas of our lives. This devotion is expressed in our commitment to the disciplines of the Christian life including:
That we possess God's heart for the people of this world, expressed through:
That we minister in ways that don't compromise the Gospel but recognize the effectiveness of certain methods for our time.
That small groups give us an environment to practice the disciplines of a healthy spiritual life including:
That our lives, in attitude, word, and action, whether we are ministering within the context of 'church' or during the week, reveal our commitment to honor our God.
That God's Word is our authority and guide for life and completely trustworthy.
That we recognize our dependence on God and the power and leading of His Spirit for life and ministry to touch people's hearts and change people's lives.
That beneath all that we as the people of God do lies a transformed, genuine life, empowered by the Spirit of God.
That God requires leadership to challenge, encourage, motivate, and equip the church to be His arm of redemption in the world.
