Mid-Week Kids Programs

 

Boys' club is a fun time for boys, ages 8 to 12 (grades 3-6), that promotes male bonding, instills Christian values, and reinforces the ways of Jesus Christ in an exciting, structured way.

The boys enjoy gym time, outings, projects, story telling, and awards-based activities that challenge them to understand Christian principles through assigned reading and living the Christian life.

Fun activities in a friendly environment enable boys to observe their adult Christian male leaders, and foster strong Christian leadership skills of their own. Boys are encouraged to invite their friends as guests to Boys' Club meetings and events.

A Typical Evening

  • Gym time: boys play floor hockey, soccer, dodge ball, etc. in the gym at Eastview Community Church
  • Project time: while projects vary, some of the most popular annual projects are building and racing sailboats, sleds, and pine cars
  • Honour time: for completing chapters and activities in their achievement books; boys are given the opportunity to be recognized for their weekly accomplishments
  • Story-telling time: a 10-minute story time enables adult Christian male leaders to share their life experiences and influence the boys with a Biblical or life lesson

Special Events/Outings

  • Camp Arnes for an overnight camp out, with Dads invited to join in
  • Regional floor hockey tournament (teams from other churches throughout Manitoba compete)
  • Regional car races (teams from other churches throughout Manitoba compete)
  • Sparker Nights (these are group outings for the boys to go bowling, roller skating, see movies, etc.)

The Boys' Club meets 7:00PM - 8:30PM on Wednesdays, October through April (Boys' Club breaks for the month of December).

To register a boy in grade 3-6 for Boys' Club 2008-09, please acquire the Boys' Club Registration Form on a Wednesday evening at Boys Club, or click on the form below, print it at home, and bring it along with you.

COSTS: please note that there is a $20 registration fee, the achievement workbook costs $10, and you can choose to either buy ($25) or rent ($10) a Boys' Club t-shirt for the season.

Boys are encouraged to invite their friends as guests to Boys' Club meetings and events. Friends don't need to be attendees or members of Eastview. All are welcome. To find out more, contact us.
