Staff Changes

Phil Kaethler - 2006-04-26

We posted a number of vacancies in March. Some were to address our desire to train up young leaders and the summer seems to be an ideal time to invest. We are pleased to announce that Zach Pearson has been hired for our Worship Director Assistant position. We have also extended the hours for Stuart Koslowsky to fulltime for the summer months in his role as Student Ministry Coordinator. We have just finished our interviews for our Equipping Director Assistant role and will announce the results after we have an accepted offer of hire.

In our vacancies in Worship and Student Ministry, I had at least an application or inquirer a day for a month as these positions were posted locally, nationally and internationally. We have been very encouraged by the quality of candidates that have applied for both positions. Senior Management Team (SMT) has started discussion with our top candidates for our Worship Director position. We are a bit further behind in our Student Ministry position, although we have narrowed down our top candidates. We will have further updates for both of these important vacancies in the near future as we establish discernment teams for each position.

In other staff news, Malynda Zacharias will not be returning from maternity leave into our Worship Ministry, but invest her energy in her family and the ministry she shares with her husband. Sandi Hamm will be transitioning out of leadership in the Worship Ministry (June 30) to take on a more active role in administration within Eastview. She will continue in a part-time capacity and will vol-unteer within the music ministry of Eastview. Sue Thiessen will be leaving her part-time position (June 15th) in Children's Ministry to spend more time with her family. Trish Koslowsky has taken on many different roles and responsibilities within Eastview the past number of years and we have continued to refine her position to best suit our current needs. These changes have provided an opportunity to create a new position of Children's Ministry Director. We are currently assessing the accountabilities and responsibilities as we draft this ministry position and will be receiving applicants shortly with a projectwd start date in early fall.

Although we have a few members of our team moving and transitioning within Eastview, we are blessed that all will continue to serve within our church community. Their heart for ministry has not changed, just the place from where they will teach, influence, encourage and serve others. We are grateful for the sacrifice and investment you have made in Eastview.
