Time Out For Moms still needs volunteers to help out with childcare, someone to run a "structured" childcare area (with singing, stories and videos, craft and gym time), and helpers. The program starts on September 24 and runs for eight Mondays from 9:30 to 11:30am. If you would love to serve in this area to help out the moms of Eastview, please contact Regina Dick at 668-5623.
The Hampstead School Breakfast Program, operating under Eastview Church, the Salvation Army and Braeside Church, is in full swing. About 40 children have signed up and we've seen about 12-15 per day so far. Already week we've seen kids coming to school without warm enough clothing and ready to eat whatever we serve for breakfast. We'd like to do a simple prewinter clothing drive for children's mitts, toques, socks and boots. We are asking for new items to be dropped off in the box under the Breakfast Club poster at the Missions board by Sunday, Oct 7.
"H2O: A Journey of Faith" is a powerful and engaging journey exploring the person and purpose of Jesus Christ for 2 1/2 hours, one evening per week, for 10 weeks. In readiness to deliver H2O well, we need Christ-followers as table hosts and servers on the hospitality team. If you would prayerfully consider being on the H2O team and are interested, call Greg Armstrong at the church office (334-4675).
The Eastview Technical Ministry has openings on the technical team, including Video Camera Operators (experience is not required and training will be provided) and Audio Operators (experience preferred, but will consider someone with a strong musical or technical background).
If you have an interest in video, or in audio mixing/music and would like to join this team, please contact Larry Kohut, 661-3971, for more information or through the church at .
Writers: Find You're Fit! Have you ever wanted to try your hand at journalism? Do you enjoy expressing yourself through writing? Did you look at the tagline above and immediately notice that there's something wrong with it? If you answered 'yes' to one or more of those questions, then Eastview's Communications ministry might just have the role you're looking for as a volunteer scribe for the Eastview Link newsletter and this website.
Web Developers: Do the acronyms PHP, MySQL, or CSS mean something to you? If so, are you a web developer looking for a way to get plugged in at Eastview? ...and if so, then consider whether a volunteer role in Eastview's Communications ministry, working on this very website, might be the right fit for you.
For more information for either of these opportunities, contact Philip Wiebe at or drop a note in mailbox C79.
