Spiritual Growth Process

At Eastview we've found that what you believe really matters in everyday life and that there's no more exciting adventure or fulfilling challenge than that of a lifelong pursuit of becoming like Christ. Our Spiritual Growth programs are designed to encourage and equip new, renewing and committed believers in their walk with Jesus.

Spiritual Growth Process:
Belong – You were designed to be a part of a church family. And that's exactly what Eastview is intended to be - your family. A healthy family has common beliefs, purposes and commitment. Our goal at Eastview is to increase our understanding of commitment to God, as we explore biblical truth in a relevant way.

Grow – Spiritual growth is not so much about "doing" as it is about "becoming" - becoming more like Christ. Ultimately, the Christian life is about building an intimate relationship with Jesus as the Holy Spirit changes us from the inside out.

Serve – We all are shaped by God with individual gifts and talents that are to be used to support the Body of Christ.
One of Eastview Community Church’s principles is that every member is a minister, and when you do not play the role that God has designed you to do for the church, the Body of Christ suffers.

Share – God created you with a purpose. That personal, yet church-wide purpose, means connecting flawed human beings with our perfect and eternal God.
Your own story of how God has worked in your life is one of the most effective tools you have for connecting people to God. Your life experiences can be a bridge to a friend or family member who is seeking Christ. Find out how you can be part of His global plan as you take a course during our “Sunday XL” program.

Worship – Our praise and worship expression comes as a direct response to God's great character and our reflections on His truth and work in our lives and in the world around us.
We continually seek to give adoration to God in creative ways that make it both meaningful and expressive of our hearts desire to draw near to Him.

Eastview's "On to Maturity" Team stands poised to lead you to a deeper and growing faith and offers several ways to help you develop the habits you need to jump-start or continue your journey of actively pursuing a lifelong process of spiritual growth.

'Sunday XL'

The goal of our 'Sunday XL' is that every believer who calls Eastview home would live lives that reflect not only hearts filled with private worship but that they would regularly be involved in times of intentional spiritual training. We meet together during the year on Sunday afternoon (1:00pm-4:00pm) to develop lives that are filled with times of teaching and learning, fellowship and celebration.

The training sessions are divided into five basic streams:

  1. Bible Discovery (focusing on the study of Scripture)
  2. Life Lessons (speaking to people in specific stages of life)
  3. Spiritual Formation (classes specifically targeting the Christian’s personal walk)
  4. Ministry Training (where individual ministries can build into existing and prospective volunteers)
  5. Intro to Eastview

Two Sunday XLs have been scheduled for the 2009: October 18 and November 15.

Topical Classes

From time to time throughout the ministry season, Eastview offers specific topic related classes concurrent with our Sunday services. Whether you are searching for answers to some tough questions, interested in discovering your God-given gifts, learning how to share your faith or would like to know how to be a more effective and vibrant follower of Christ there is a class available for you.

Men's Bible Study and Prayer

Every Tuesday morning bright and early at 7:00 am will find a number of men from Eastview gathering for a time of Bible Study and prayer at the Perkins on Henderson Highway. All men welcome to attend.
