Drama?
You bet. God has gifted his children in a myriad of wonderful ways, and on every second Tuesday a dozen or so of us gather to honor these gifts.
Interested? We're always looking for more people whether they are actors, writers, directors, costumators, . . . you get the picture. It is an adult drama team so you must be 18 or older. (However we do need younger actors from time to time!)
For more information, read on to see what we're about, call or email Steve at the church.
1. Honor God
Always love the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit with everything you are and everything you do before all else. (Matthew 22:37)
2. Honor your teammates
Doing drama has a lot to do with being vulnerable. Therefore, we need to keep our times together safe. This means that all interaction comes from a place of kindness and love. (Matthew 22:39)
3. Honor your gifts
Honor the gifts that God gave you. Exercise them like a muscle. When you do, God will grow them and in the process grow you and reach others. (Matthew 25:20-21, 1 Corinthians 14:12)
Drama Mission Statement
As the Eastview Drama Team, we find our place in Eastview’s misson (“Leading people to Christ and on to maturity in Him.”) in our two major activities;
In gathering we serve God as we discover and develop the talents He has given and strive for excellence in their use. We also serve our teammates by engaging one another in respect, safety, encouragement, edification, and community.
In presenting dramatic pieces for others we serve God and those gathered by revealing Truth in a manner that pleases God and engages the congregation. We also strive to elicit a response from the congregation, be it worship, confession, repentance, joy, spiritual growth, or anything that leads people to Christ or on to maturity in Him.
